"Our Worst Fears Were Realized" Lattimore Done for Season
As if things couldn't get any worse for Spurriers' Gamecocks, they did. After releasing fifth-year senior quarterback Stephen Garcia a week ago and receiving loads of national attention after ranting about a local sports journalist, things have been improving much. Now, its over. It's all over. South Carolina barely escaped Starkville with a win Saturday, only to lose their best offensive player. Marcus Lattimore suffered a slightly torn ligament in his knee during the fourth quarter against the Bulldogs, leaving the position wide open for freshman Brandon Wilds. The only positive aspect of it all is that the Gamecocks have a bye week this week to try and figure out what they are going to do against Tennessee on October 29th. South Carolina fans should be thankful for the six wins they currently possess. Hey, at least they will go to a bowl this year.
